Weekly letter from St Luke's - 28th December 2024

Dear Parish Friends

A reminder that this Sunday there will be only one service at St Luke's at 9am. This will also be streamed over Zoom. See the links below for a copy of the week's notice paper and order of service for 9am.

We may be only four days after celebrating Christmas, and still reading chapter 2 of the gospel of Luke, but in the narrative we have jumped forward twelve years to a story of Jesus in the temple at Jerusalem listening to and questioning the teachers. This is a glimpse of how Jesus' ministry will move on some twenty years later; listening to people and asking them questions which in turn make them think. We are reminded that when we look for Jesus, we need to look beyond the image of the stable to someone who is always listening to and always questioning us.
