Weekly letter from St Luke's - 27th October 2023

Dear Parish Friends

Our services this weekend are 7am (Holy Communion) and 9am (family service with communion - also streamed on Zoom). The weekly notice paper and 9am service sheet are available via the links below.

This being the fifth Sunday of the month, we will be having a special family service at 9am where we we will share Holy Communion in a way that I hope will be accessible to all ages. Children’s Church have been doing some preparation over the last two weeks to contribute to the liturgy and will be making the bread that we will bless and share.

Our 7am service continues with the readings from the start of Holy Week in Matthew's gospel. Jesus is challenged to say which is the greatest law, to which he replied, 'love God', but then goes on to say 'and love your neighbour as yourself'. To us these seem so straightforward, but it is how these are put to practice that reveals whether one is really following God's way of the Kingdom.
