Weekly letter from St Luke's - 17th May, 2024

Dear Parish Friends

This Sunday we celebrate the Day of Pentecost, the day, fifty days after Easter when the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles and infused them, and enthused, them for ministry. We read too, from the gospel of John, of Jesus' promises as to what the coming of the Spirit will mean. Here it is called the Paraclete, which literally means 'the one called to be alongside you, just as Jesus has been'. The Spirit, says Jesus, will teach remind us of all that Jesus taught, will enable us to share this testimony with others, and out us on the right path.

Our services on Sunday are at the usual times of 7am and 9am, with the 9am services also be streamed on Zoom. The 9am service sheet and the week's Notice Paper are available via the links below. Children's Church continues for term two during the 9am service.

On Sunday evening there is an Ecumenical Service to be held at Fairfield Christian Family (51 Cross Street, Fairfield). All welcome!

Also please remember the working bee in the Rectory garden this Saturday 9am-12noon.

Yours in Christ

Rev'd Timothy
