Weekly letter from St Luke's - 14th February 2025
Dear Parish Friends
Our gospel reading this week is St Luke's version of the Beatitudes. These blessings (from the Latin beatitudo, meaning "blessedness"), are reminders that those who feel that are forgotten, the poor, the hungry, the distressed, the oppressed, are not forgotten by God. They are indeed 'blessed', the holy people of God's Kingdom.
Our services this Sunday are as usual: 7am Holy Communion and 9am Family Communion (with Zoom streaming and Children's Church). The weekly notice paper and 9am service sheet are available from the links below.
Remember that our Annual Meeting is on this Sunday 16th February at 10.30am (Zoom attendance will be possible). The annual report book is available here, and some printed copies will be available in church. A list of those whose nominations have been received for elections to the new Parish Council, together with eligibility information regarding who can vote, is available here.
Regards
Rev'd Timothy
