Dear Parish Friends

We enter this Sunday into the most important week of the Christian year - it is not called Holy Week for nothing, as we retell the events in Jerusalem from nearly 2,000 ago which are pivotal in the the great sweep of the history of God's relationship with God's creation. In much the same way that a TV miniseries might give an overview of what is to come, traditionally on this day we rehearse the whole of the passion story from 'Hosanna!' to 'Crucify!' We are encouraged to come throughout the week to enter more deeply into the story. But we also know that the story does not end on Good Friday - there is a 'to be continued...'

Our services are as usual at 7am and 9am, with Zoom streaming at 9am. With the completion of the new south entrance area to the church we will be able to start both the services with a palm procession. The weekly notice paper and 9am service sheet are available at the links below. Children's Church is in recess for the school holidays, but children are always welcome, and there will still be a children's message during the 9am service.

After the 9am service, we are holding a mission workshop, which will go for no more than an hour. With the redevelopment rapidly approaching completion, we need to start thinking about how we will reconnect with each other, engage our wider community and support the early learning centre. Please join us for this interactive session - we are keen to hear your ideas. If you can't make it, there will be other opportunities to participate in the discussion.

Then at 6pm on Sunday we welcome our brothers and sisters from other churches in the area for an ecumenical Palm Sunday service. Our band will lead the music and Pastor Peter Richards from Annerley Baptist Church will be preaching. All welcome! If you are coming, please bring something to share for supper after the service.

Regards

Rev'd Timothy
