Weekly letter from St Luke's - 11 March 2022

Dear Parish Friends

This week is the second week of Lent, and our focus is journeying. In our gospel passage we follow Jesus on the way to Jerusalem, in the Old Testament reading on Abram's call to leave Ur and all he knew for the promised land, and in the writing of St Paul, all our journeys towards heaven. In all these journeys we know that God is with us, and wants to bring us along. Jesus says 'How long have I desired to gather your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings' (Luke 13:34).

Services are as usual on Sunday at 7am and 9am, with the 9am service also being streamed over Zoom. Service sheets for the streamed service, the weekly notice paper, and a reminder of the Zoom address and password are available on the links below. For those coming to St Luke's on Sunday, please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before the service starts as there will be a time for silent prayer as we begin.

Finally, remember that the St Luke's Theatre Society play, 'Much ado about nothing' opens this evening. Details at www.stlukestheatre.asn.au.

Yours in Christ

Rev'd Timothy
